ADVANCED SKI LESSONS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BECOME INSTRUCTORS.

This structured program prepares skiers for the Level 1 CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance) certification, which is required to become a ski instructor. Participants refine their technique, learn the fundamentals of ski teaching, and get ready for the official exam. The CSIA Level 1 exam is included at the end of the program, and the $150 exam fee is already covered in the course price. The program is led by certified trainers and offers a motivating environment focused on learning and success.

PROGRAM DETAILS

• Duration: 10 consecutive weeks
• First class date: January 4, 2026
• Available times: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• CSIA Level 1 exam: 5 hours, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on March 1 and March 8, 2026
• Lift access: included during the lessons

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age: 14 years old (as of February 15, 2026)
• Minimum level: must have completed the Adventure 2 level of the Skier Development program
• Helmet strongly recommended

PARTIAL EXAM FEE REIMBURSEMENT

The program includes a $150 fee for the CSIA Level 1 exam. This amount is eligible for reimbursement if the participant is hired as a ski instructor at Mont Rigaud for the 2026–2027 season and meets the employment conditions specified by the Snow School.

GOOD TO KNOW

• This program is a valuable asset for becoming an instructor but is not required to be hired.
• Minimum requirements to work as an instructor:
  • Be 14 years or older
  • Have completed the CSIA Level 1 certification

OPTIONAL ADD-ONS

• Snow School season pass: lets students ski outside of their lessons at a discounted rate
• Seasonal equipment rental: includes skis, boots, poles and helmet. You keep the gear all season and can use it at any ski resort

Any changes to the registration before the program begins are subject to a $25 administration fee and are based on availability.

No changes are allowed once the program has started: the chosen day and time apply for the entire program.

Refunds before the program begins may be granted without justification. After the program begins, refunds are available on a pro-rated basis only for major medical reasons or relocation (supporting documents required). All program prices include a non-refundable $25 administration fee.

No refund, credit or make-up class will be issued for absences, regardless of reason.

The ski school reserves the right to modify the schedule or cancel and reschedule a class. If a class is cancelled due to weather, it will be automatically rescheduled at the end of the 8-week program by adding an extra Saturday or Sunday. More than one make-up day may occur in a season.

WEATHER – It is the responsibility of the parent or participant to check whether the resort is open or lessons are cancelled. No individual notifications will be sent. In case of cancellation, a red banner will appear at the top of our homepage www.montrigaud.com and a message will be posted on our Facebook page facebook.com/montrigaud.
